Sri Aurobindo Society, Bangalore Branch, Halasuru in association with Samskrita Bharati, Halasuru is
organising a Samskrita Bharati -PRAVESHA Course at Halasuru.

DATE : From Last (tentative) of October 2018. TIME : 4 pm to 5:30 pm hours Weekly.
DURATION: 4 months only

About the Samskrit Course

 The Pravesha course is structured into weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each, spread over 4 months,
1day/week. Not much background knowledge of Samskrit is necessary to attend it. At the end of the
course, each participant will be able to speak and write simple sentences in Samskrit and gain
confidence and motivation to pursue it further 3 (three) more levels Viz., Parichaya, Shiksha and
Kovida – Courses after which you may attain familiarity to write advanced degree level courses later
for most of the universities in India. The completion may take 2 years.

  • Prior knowledge of spoken or written skills NOT necessary. However familiarity in Devanagari (Hindi) script will help.

  • This short course can also be used as a stepping stone for further explorations into the vast world of Samskritam.
  • Sanskrit being an ancient and mother of most languages, any Samskrit literate would find it very easy to pick up other languages when needed. For example, "dwau" in Samskrit modifies to "two" in English, "Zwei" in German, "Due" in Italian, "Dos" in Spanish, "Do" in Hindi, "Dui" in Bengali, "Don" in Marathi and so on. Also, "tr" in Samskrit modifies to "Three" in English, "Drei" in German, "tre" in Italian, "Tres" in Spanish, "Teen" in Hindi and Marathi, "Tina" in Bengali and so on. 
  • Samskrit has a very vast repository of the world's most advanced literature from ancient times.

Samskrit Conversation Camp


Sri Aurobindo Society, Bangalore Branch, Halasuru in association with Samskrita Bharati, Halasuru is organising a 10-day Samskrita Sambhashana Shibiram at Halasuru.

VENUE: Sri Aurobindo Society, No. 110, Gangadhara Chetty Road, (Opp. Ulsoor Lake) Bangalore – 560 042
 
The Samskrita Sambhashana Shibiram is structured into ten sessions of 2 hours each, spread over 10 days. No background knowledge of Samskrit is necessary to attend it. At the end of the shibiram, each participant will be able to hold simple conversational sentences in Samskrit and gain confidence and motivation to pursue it further.
 
Why should people learn Samskrit?

- Samskrit has a very vast repository of spiritual and scientific literature.
- Samskrit being an ancient and mother of most languages, any Samskrit literate would find it very easy to pick up other languages if needed later.
